Ed Lind and the Richard, Robert, and Jim Ochs-ners attended the cattlefeeders' convention Thursday, held at Vail. Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Weber, with Mrs. Hannah Kinds-fater of Fort Collins, traveled to Sterling to visit Mrs.

Carrie Miller who returned home from the hospital the past week. Mrs. C.B. Clark and children visited with the Carl Webers last Wednesday, and Bruce Weber stayed until Tuesday with the Carl and Albert Webers. Last Wednesday, Mr.

and Mrs. Henry Felte left for Vail to attend the Colorado Cattlefeeders' convention. They returned home Saturday afternoon. Mrs. J.A.

Robb and daughters. Maria and Brenda, left Tuesday for their home in Kensington, after spending four weeks with her parents, the Carl Feltes, and other relatives in the area. Herbert Named Sales Manarer; Transferred to Colo. Springs Dick Hergert, son of Mr. and Mrs.

Henry Hergert, has been named district sales manager for the Ralston Purina effective Sept. 1. He will be in charge of sales in southeastern Colorado, and he and his wife have moved to Colorado Springs. Hergert trained in the Greeley area for the position. Since April 1 of this year he has been the firm's assistant district sales manager for the Logan, Sedgwick, and Phillips counties.

Sandy Felte, Jack Eichorn. and Fred Casten climbed Mt. Elbert Saturday. Mt. Elbert, near Lead-ville, is one of the highest peaks in Colorado.

It took the trio four hours to climb up the face and two hours to make It down. They hiked about 13 miles round trip. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hergert were guests of their son and his wife, the Dick Hergerts of Sterling, Sunday.

Mrs. Dave Hergert attended a belated wedding shower week Tuesday honoring Judy Hergert, at the Eckley (Colo.) church. About 30 guests attended the event. Sunday, the Clarence Genz family spent some time in the mountains near the Buckhorn picking choke cherries. They returned to LaPorte to attend a picnic at the Ray Genz residence.

Other relatives attending were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Truchan and the Jack Spence family. and daughter Beverly, with Jerry, went to see the movie "Paint Your Wagon." Sunday evening callers at the Wm. Scheid home were the Dave Hergerts and the Glen Becht-holdt family.

Friday evening Mr. and Mrs. Norman Johnson and the Tim Johnsons and. daughter Shelley of Westminster were dinner guests of the Paul Ehrlichs, celebrating the Tim Johnsons third wedding anniversary. Houseguests of the Richard Schlagel family are Mrs.

Schla-gel's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Szczepanski from Buffalo, N.Y., and an aunt from Eggerts-ville, N.Y. They will be visiting in this area for about three or four weeks. Sandy Felte, daughter of Mr.

and. Carl Felte, left yesterday for Boulder where she will be a freshman. She is living in Libby hall. CARD OF THANKS I wish to thank all my relatives and friends for the lovely floral arrangements, cards, and other acts of kindness while I was in the hospital. Mrs.

Henry Felte Park Promoter Poet William Cullen Bryant, after taking a walk in the countryside north of New York City in 1844, urged that a large tract of land be bought for public use while it was still inexpensive. Twelve years later, the land was purchased; it is now known as Central Park. During their stay, Mrs. Robb's mother-in-law, Mrs. Mary Ann Robb of Pueblo, visited for eight days at the Felte home.

Three of the Clarence Genz children spent Saturday night with their grandfather, Ray Genz, of LaPorte.
